Polyethylene terephthalate has a high strength ratio. It has a strong resistance to chemical solubles. It shows low moisture absorption. The polyethylene terephthalate material, which has a well-machinable structure, also has a low basic expansion coefficient. Due to its superior chemical resistance, ease of processing and food contact approvals, PET foils are the material of choice for components in packaging forming applications such as thermoforming molds.
